Embedded systems, IoT and positioning for healthcare

Embedded systems and “Internet-of-Things” are technological platforms essential for the development of ECLEXYS proposal in the ICT-empowered healthcare.

The company has a specific expertise in the following areas:

• Development of optimized embedded system for sensor interfacing and monitoring.
• Very low-power design solutions able to extend significantly the unattended life of the sensor before a battery change becomes necessary.
• Advanced positioning solutions, based on GNSS (for outdoor use) or ultra-wideband ranging (for indoor applications).

All the above-mentioned approaches are optimized especially to give an answer to use in healthcare. For instance, in order to allow the control of an assisted person’s position in urban environment, a special positioning unit able to exploit data from GNSS satellites belonging to different constellations has been developed, making possible the tracking e.g. of Alzheimer patients also in places where standard single-constellation localizers would be useless
